After the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons in the LHSAO, the Cornwall Senior Prowlers owner Mitch Gagne decided to embark on a new journey. After many months of hard, dedicated work, he began a new league. The inaugural season of the EOSHL (Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League) would consist of four teams. The Cornwall Prowlers, Deseronto Bulldogs, Maxville Millionaires, and West Carleton Rivermen. The fast paced, energetic hockey took off in late September of 2019. The finals would showcase the competitiveness of this league, which the action went back and forth. The Cornwall Prowlers defeated the regular season champions 3 games to 2.
The 2020-2021 season was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. Mitch Gagne (President) worked diligently with others to increase the amount of teams for the upcoming years. New teams are the Frontenac Phantoms, Glengarry Pipers, Smiths Falls Rideaus, North Dundas Rockets, South Grenville Rangers, Gananoque Islanders, Bytown Royals, and Tweed Oil Kings who will have to wait a year to begin their inaugural season in 2021-2022.
Smiths Falls Rideaus were the 2021-2022 Western Division regular season champions, as the South Grenville Rangers won the Eastern Division. In the playoffs, the North Dundas Rockets won the championship over the Gananoque Islanders. In an exciting finals series, it took the Rockets over time to win in the final and deciding game.
The North Dundas Rockets and the Gananoque Islanders were the Division Champions and meet in the Finals for the second year in a row. Once again the Rockets came up on top winning the series 3 games to 1.
For the 2023-2024, teams from Low Quebec (Paugan Falls), Marmora (Centre Hastings), and Barry's Bay (MV) have brought the team league total to 15 teams. This years finals were the North Dundas Rockets and Gananoque Islanders again. An exciting final series as it went down to the final 5th game. This time the Islanders came up victorious.
Jon Zinck and Joshua Rowlands are the new owners. In their first year they added the Westport Lumberjacks, the Lindsay Barncats, and oversaw the relocation of the Manotick Mariners.
