The North Dundas Rockets hosted the Smiths Falls Rideaus for Game 3 of the EOSHL Final and dominated from the opening faceoff to the final buzzer. The Rockets jumped out to a 4-0 lead heading into the second period, with Tanner Williams scoring twice in the final five minutes of the first.
The Rideaus got on the board in the second period with a goal by the speedy Andrew Sprague, his third of the playoffs. Despite this, the Rideaus were outshot 18-4 in the period and found themselves trailing heading into the third. The second frame also saw 9 penalties called, adding to the physicality and heated exchanges.
Kevin Lough sealed the 5-1 victory for the Rockets late in the third period with a power-play goal. The game saw a total of 15 penalties, with Smiths Falls taking 9 of the 16 calls. Rockets goaltender Matt Jenkins made 20 saves in the win, while Smiths Falls netminder Dallas Slack made 40 saves on 45 shots in a losing effort.
The Rockets now have a chance to clinch their third EOSHL Championship in four years on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at 7:30 PM from the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre. The Rideaus are undefeated at home with a 7-0 record.
